Information Collection and Use
Moonlite Crafters is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. Moonlite Crafters collects information from our users at several different points on our website.
Order Form
We request information from the user on our order form. Here a user must provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and financial information (like credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill customer’s orders. If we have trouble processing an order, this contact information is used to get in touch with the user. This page is protected using secure SSL encryption. See below under “Sharing and Disclosure” for more information.
Log Files
Like most standard Web site servers we use log files to track user information. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. The information collected, including the IP address, is not linked to personally identifiable information. We use a tracking service through our Web site host, clic.net, that uses log files to track user movement.
Alternate Methods of Collection
For users who are particularly concerned about Internet security, we offer an alternative to placing an order using our secure online checkout. Orders can be submitted by email or fax, and this contact information is provided on our contact page.
Sharing and Disclosure
Legal Disclaimers
Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our Web site. Any information requested by a third party for any other reason will not be disclosed without the user’s permission.
Clients who transmit personal information to us using insecure methods (namely email) do so at their own risk. We cannot and will not take responsibility for any damages incurred to the customer if their personal information is intercepted by a person with malicious intent while being transmitted insecurely. We can only warrant the protection of personal information if it is transmitted using secure methods, which include our secure order page and fax or telephone.
Links
This web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that Moonlite Crafters is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this website.
Third Party Intermediaries
For added security, any user may request the use of a third party intermediary known as an “escrow” service to handle the financial transaction. An escrow service operates by taking the user’s payment without releasing any financial information (including credit card number and expiry date) to Moonlite Crafters. The user’s payment is then held until the user confirms receipt of their order, at which time the escrow service releases the payment to Moonlite Crafters. For more information visit escrow
Business Transitions
In the event that Moonlite Crafters goes through a business transition, such as a merger, being acquired by another company, or selling a portion of its assets, users’ personal information will, in most instances, be part of the assets transferred. Users will be notified via prominent notice on our Web site for 30 days prior to a change of ownership or control of their personal information. If, as a result of the business transition, the users’ personally identifiable information will be used in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection, they will be given choice consistent with our notification of changes section.
Security
This website takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and off-line.
When our order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number), it is protected during transmission with 128-bit SSL encryption, the best encryption software in the industry. To learn more about SSL, please visit rsasecurity
While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users’ information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. In addition, ALL employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Every quarter, as well as any time new policies are added, our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our customers’ information is protected. Finally, the servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment.
If you have any questions about the security at our website, please contact us.
Supplementation of Information
We will not normally have any reason to contact any third parties regarding your personally identifiable information. However, if we have sufficient reason to believe that financial information (such as credit card number and expiry date) submitted by the user may be false, we reserve the right to contact the credit card company to verify the ownership of the account number provided by the user.
Correcting/Updating/Deleting/Deactivating Personal Information
If a user’s personally identifiable information changes (such as postal code, phone, email or postal address) before we have finished processing an order, or if a user decides to cancel their order, or make a change to the shipping address or credit card information, we provide a way to update or delete the user’s personally identifiable information. This can usually be done or by contacting us. When we receive a request to cancel an order, the order will be deleted from our electronic online database, and any documents containing the user’s personally identifiable information will also be destroyed. Email correspondence pertaining to the order, however, will be retained for future reference. This helps us better serve our repeat customers.
Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our Homepage so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
